In the future, this makes them more flexible in adjusting with a host of challenges they are facing.

St. Petersburg, FL (PRWEB) May 10, 2012

Over the last few years, the total number of smart phones available on the market has increased exponentially. Two of the largest competitors that are continually vying for market share include: Google and Apple. This is because both phones offer similar features and can be customized to the needs of a particular user.

However, the Google Android is considered to be more popular. This is because the device is more user friendly and it has an open operating system (which means that more free applications available). As a result, the total number of Android users around the world is over 300 million people. Out of this amount, Google estimates that they are experiencing 850 thousand activations a day. This is illustrating how the Android has become one of the most popular phones on the market. To reach out to Android users, B2B eTrader recently developed a free application that can be uploaded to these phones.

The Android and B2B eTrader

The Google Android was designed to be an alternative to the iPhone. Since it was first introduced, it has made computing and the use of different applications more mobile. This has led to changes in how someone will use the Internet. To

Huawei Ascend Y100 Launching Exclusively On O2 In The UK For £80, Promises To Be Nice To Your Wallet

At a time where phone networks in the UK are fighting over 4G spectrum, it’s easy to forget that not everyone is willing, or able, to spend £40 a month on a fast mobile phone – just ask those public sector workers who are striking over pensions today.

With this in mind, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that O2 is attempting to broaden its smartphone lineup by adding Huawei’s Ascend Y100 into the mix.

The device is a far cry from the phones that are normally advertised by the network; if you visit O2′s home page you’ll be greeted by high-end Android phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy S III, alongside the iPhone and Windows Phones, too.

With the price of the Y100 set at £80 on pay-as-you-go, or £10 a month with no cost for the phone, you should set your expectations accordingly – you aren’t going to get a phone capable of competing with the Galaxy S III, but you will get Android 2.3 and a 2.8-inch touchscreen to play around with. Huawei has also said that the phone will have full access to the Google Play Store, so you will be able to get your Angry Birds fix just like everyone else.

As the contract is so cheap, I wouldn’t expect a big data allowance on the Y100 – especially when you consider the meager allowance that you get with the best phones on the market – but you should be good if you just want to check Twitter and emails on the go.

If you’re in the market for a cheap Android device, you’ll be able to pick up a Huawei Y100 at an O2 store from June 1st.

ASUS Eee Pad Slider Getting Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) Update In The US Right Now

Do you own an Eee Pad Slider? Time to hit the check update button (if you’re in the US, that is), because ASUS just dropped via Twitter that the device is receiving an OTA update to Android 4.0:

As far as I know, that means ASUS’s entire line of Android tablets are now running Ice Cream Sandwich (though admittedly, there’s only four of them), a track record I’m sure we’d all like to see other tablet manufacturers match (*cough* Samsung *cough*). Let us know in the comments if you’re having any difficulties with the update, or if you’re able to get it outside the US.

Google Working On Its Own Version Of Game Center, Says Business Insider

In a continued attempt to make Android more viable as an entertainment platform, Google is working on a social gaming app in the same vein as Apple’s Game Center, if Business Insider’s sources are to be believed. The app would be a huge boon for social gaming on Android. As the platform grows, and gaming along with it, Google risks losing a golden opportunity to be even more deeply embedded within one of the biggest growth markets in mobile.

The usual features are expected: social achievements, awards/trophies, and player leaderboards. What’s unclear is whether or not Google will try to integrate Plus into the mix. If we learned anything from Facebook and Farmville, it’s that gaming can be a huge boost to a social network’s user base. The question is, will casual gamers prefer to be identified by their real names or will they insist on a pseudonym? If being on the leaderboard for Angry Birds meant that everyone who’s ever played the game (read: hundreds of millions of people) can see your photos, location, or any other data you share on G+, it might make gamers uncomfortable.

Either way, though, Google has a pressing need to get more involved in gaming. A social game center would be a huge step in the right direction towards that goal.

Motorola Droid RAZR now available in blue in select stores, online May 17

Motorola Droid RAZR

Verizon this morning officially announced that a blue version of the Motorola Droid RAZR is available in select stores and will be sold online starting May 17. As we noted when we broke the news on Sunday, it’s the same RAZR we’ve come to know and love (and wonder why it’s still being sold when the MAXX exists), and it’s still running Gingerbread.

T-Mobile adds 187,000 subscribers in Q1

T-Mobile

T-Mobile today announced its first-quarter 2012 earnings, adding 187,000 net subscribers in the first three months of the year, compared to a loss of 99,000 a year ago. Money-wise, TMoUS saw operating income rise $7.2 percent to $1.27 billion, and average revenue per user jump a couple bucks to $58. The big talk from T-Mobile this week at CTIA, however, is life after the failed ATT acquisition. And to that end, it’s continuing to upgrade its network with an announced $4 billion modernization plan that will pave the way for LTE service in 2013.

Total customers now stand at 33.4 million — up a couple hundred thousand from the end of 2011, but still 200,000 below Q1 2011.

Sony ST21i ‘Tapioca’ leaked again

Android Central

It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first non-blurrycam look at the Sony ST21i ”Tapioca,” an upcoming ICS-toting budget handset from the Japanese manufacturer. Today it’s cropped up yet again, in another unauthorized hands-on preview, this time from Russian site Mobile-Review. There’s not a whole lot here we haven’t seen before, but the preview does take a closer look at the Tapioca’s software — a similar package to what we’ve been seeing on other 2012 Sony phones — as well as giving a confirmation of some rumored specs.

The details leaked today match what we’ve previously heard — the Tapioca sports a 3.2-inch HVGA display, an 800MHz single-core CPU and 512MB of RAM. It’s no multimedia powerhouse, but there should be enough computational grunt there to power ICS, as well as Sony’s assortment of multimedia enhancements. More pics at the source link. According to a leaked Sony roadmap, the Tapioca could appear as early as June, around the €150 price point.
