It’s certainly an interesting device and North American customers can finally get their hands on it in the next few weeks.

As promised by ATT, the Galaxy Note is now officially available for pre-order from its website.

Similarly, Best Buy US also has the Note up for pre-order in Carbon Blue and Ceramic White.

Both Best Busy US and ATT are offering the phablet for $299.99 with a minimum two-year monthly voice ($39.99/month) and data plan ($20/month). Unfortunately, it does not look like the subsidised device is available with a data-only plan.

Best Buy Canada also has the device up for pre-order on the following carriers, with three-year contracts:

The device will start shipping from February 19th in the US and from February 14th in Canada.

In Singapore I have seen many people carry around this device, and it is by far the best phablet available on the market today. It has a great screen, is reasonably powerful under the hood, and does a good job of combining a stylus with a capacitive touch screen.

Osmos HD

Osmos HD, by Hemisphere Games, made its jump to the Android Market in late January, and brought with it some insanely relaxing gameplay. It was previously available on computer and iDevices, so you may have played it before it became available on Android. However, if you haven’t played it already, the concept is ridiculously simple, but oh-so awesome.

Basically, you control a tiny little lifeform called a ‘mote’, and aim to consume or avoid being consumed by other ‘motes.’ It may sound odd, and way too simple to be fun, but that’s just not the case. The game is relaxing, captivating, and has hypnotizing graphics and soundtracks.

ATT will begin to take pre-orders today for the Samsung Galaxy Note, the 5.3-inch phablet will be sold in carbon blue or ceramic white, and check in at $299 with a new agreement.  Orders are set to be delivered by Feb. 17, just a bit too late for Valentine’s Day.  Also scheduled to be in ATT stores are a few accessories, notably a desktop docking station, a spare battery charger, and a flip cover case and pen holder.  Speaking of the flip cover, if you head into Best Buy and pre-order your Samsung Galaxy Note they will hook you up with one for free.  Everyone loves free.

The Note is big, bad, and just what a lot of folks are looking for.  It’s huge as a phone, but has enough size to it that it could function as a tablet for many.  The lure of carrying one device to cover both use cases is bound to attract quite a few folks, and the fact that LTE data is built into the unit is certainly a big plus.  The rest of the specs are certainly no slouch either.  That 5.3-inch Super AMOLED screen has a 1280×800 HD resolution, there’s a 1.5GHZ dual-core processor (word is it’s the same Qualcomm as in the Skyrocket), a 2500mAh battery, 1GB of RAM, and Samsung’s excellent 8MP camera all running Android 2.3.5.

If you’re going to do the deed and sign up to buy one of these big beauties, be sure to head into the forums and join the discussion.  It won’t make the wait any shorter, but it might help make it feel that way.
